Junior Lead Learning Team
Our Junior Lead Learning Team (JLLT) are amazing – we are incredibly proud of them! These outstanding individuals represent the opinions of learners as we shape the future of the school. As a democratically elected group they take their roles in school very seriously, modelling all of our LEARNER values and listening to their constitutes and are crucial to achieving our vision of achieving ‘Limitless Possibilities on our Inspiring Learning Adventure’. They regularly meet with our senior leadership team to help inform many of the important decisions about our school organisation: this includes our curriculum, behaviour strategy, lunchtime learning and recruitment of staff.
This year’s amazing team is:
Toby , Demi, Leighton, Cerys, Shannon, Nancy, Matthew, Mia-Rose, Evan
So far in 2017-2018 they have:
- JLLT informed us that the lunch hall was not acceptable, they told us it was too noisy and too rushed. Therefore we, with JLLTs vision and ideas, have completely changed the way lunchtimes are organised and created a lunchtime learning experience which has not only improved the culture of the lunch hall but also improved the outdoor experience, and has seen a reduction in the number of behaviour incidents occurring at lunchtime. In fact since its implementation there have been no incidents of poor behaviour at lunchtime.
- JLLT informed us that the behaviour system in school works but they didn’t feel that the learners who were always modelling exemplary behaviour were rewarded well enough for their efforts. Therefore, in consultation with JLLT, we launched our ‘Gold Behaviour days’, whereby those learners who have modelled exemplary behaviour throughout the term, as evidenced by the number of golds achieved, were rewarded by wearing non-uniform for a day.
- JLLT have organised a ‘spotty’ day for Children in Need and raised over £200 for this amazing cause.
