SKILLS DEVELOPED THROUGH CUPCAKE DECORATING
28/03/2018
As part of our Enhancement Day today, learners from Years 3-6 had the opportunity to learn new skills to decorate cupcakes. Learners identified that for this activity they would need: Patience, Resilience, Problem-solving skills, Empathy and Team Work skills to complete the learning successfully. They spotted that all of these skills are useful back in the classroom, alongside our Maths skills for weighing and measuring and our Art skills for sculpting.

Year 3 learners have been hard at work this week preparing for their ‘Find a Friend’ Afternoon Tea, as part of their project to spread our LEARNER values into the community. We are incredibly proud of all the Year 3 learners who decided to tackle dementia as their community project. On Wednesday afternoon they welcomed over 30 local residents from the community into school for afternoon tea, which raised a much needed £73 for the Dementia Friends charity but, more importantly, allowed our elderly community to find a friend within the school, which is just one way Year 3 plan to help those with dementia both locally and nationally. Well done Year 3 – you are role models to us all!

Your generous donations were delivered to the Rugeley Foodbank on Friday and were very well received by to see them through this very difficult period. We collected even more non-perishable goods than ever before this year and I think they wished they brought a bigger vehicle!
